CAIR-Ohio Action Fund Launches its First Relational Organizing Program

Due to continuous disappointment with elections and the lack of Muslim representation, over time Muslims have developed an apathetic attitude towards voting and advocacy. This can be attributed to other issues such as voter suppression, political misinformation, and a lack of resources and education for the Muslim community. CAIR-Ohio Action Fund acknowledges this and sees it as an opportunity to educate and help build and maintain Muslim political power.

CAIR-Ohio Action Fund is the first 501(c)4 nonprofit organization in Ohio working to amplify the political power of Ohio Muslims and elect officials who are responsive to the needs of Muslims. CAIR-Ohio Action Fund also works on legislation and policies that empower marginalized communities and promote human rights.

Through recruiting organizers and super volunteers, CAIR-Ohio Action Fund organized an impactful program that helped empower marginalized communities and promote human rights. We were able to work towards our mission to amplify the political power of Ohio Muslims and elect champions that will fight for the Muslim cause. CAIR-Ohio Action Fund is proud to have built strong relationships and facilitated necessary conversations with Muslim voters, especially considering this was our first year running a Relational Organizing Program.

We, as Muslims, are changing the course of history by electing officials who are responsive to our needs. In just one month, the project reached 495 of Muslim voters through 8 organizers, and 34 volunteers. CAIR-Ohio Action Fund is setting a solid foundation of political power and our team is looking forward to growing and continuing to lead the nation in civil rights and social justice.
